Portsmouth Schools Badminton Competition

On Tuesday 2nd December two teams from Years 7, 8 and 9 went to St Luke's School to take part in the Portsmouth Schools Badminton Competition. The boys team comprising of Matthew, Yannick, Gabriel and Perry won all their matches to go through to the final where they played Springfield. They won all their games in the final to win the overall competition. The girls found their opposition a lot tougher and despite putting up a strong fight they lost to Admiral Lord Nelson and Springfield in their pool. Well done to Ashleigh, Scarlett, Natasha and Erin.

On Tuesday 9th December two teams from Years 10 and 11 went to St Lukes to play in their competition. The boys played extremely well to win all their matches in their pool and win the overall tournament. Well done to Jack, Joshua, Tristan and Matthew. The girls also won both their matches in their pool against Admiral Lord Nelson and St Lukes schools. They had to play Portsmouth High School in the final - the winner of the other pool. In three close and exciting matches the girls came through to win both the two singles and one doubles games. Well done to Zoe, Christina and Sharna.

The three teams that won their competitions now go through to the next level which is going to be at the Mountbatten Centre on Thursday 15th January.

Sainsbury's Sports Vouchers

Once again Mayville will be collecting Sainsbury's vouchers which are now available in stores when you spend ten pounds in one transaction. Through both the Tesco and Sainsbury's collection of vouchers the school has gained valuable sports equipment worth several hundred pounds. If you collect a lot of Sainsbury's vouchers it would be appreciated if these could be collated in bundles of a hundred! Thank you for your support.
