Senior Girls Sports News

The Under 13 rounders team travelled to the St John's College playing fields at Farlington on Wednesday 9th June. They were expecting to play in one of two pools due to the large entry but due to three schools withdrawing from the tournament on the day they played all the schools in a round robin format. Despite only winning one game against St John's B team they scored more than half the number of rounders that their opposition scored in the other matches, so as a result gained some valuable points. When the overall results were announced the girls were quite surprised to find that we finished in fouth place out of seven schools that entered! Well done to Natasha, Jessica, Parinaz, Caitlin, Tegan, Francesca, Ya Xian, Emily, Niamh and Erin.

The Under 12 team faced Meoncross School on Tuesday 8th June on Southsea Common. They have already played a few matches together but after the half term break struggled to regain their form. Meoncross School had some strong players who could hit the ball well but could equally field the ball accuartely as well. The girls lost overall by 18 and a half rounders to 12. Well done to Rebecca D, Rebecca H, Martha, Fabrizia, Georgina, Tara, Safah, Imogen and Ayla.
